Signal & Telecommunication Department
Signal and Telecommunication department caters the communication needs of Rail Coach Factory Kapurthala including the provision of Telephony, data communication, Surveillance system, Public Address systems, VC systems etc.
S&T Infrastructure is as under:

Telephone Exchanges

2000 Lines Railway telephone exchange is installed for communication both internal as well as inter railways.

200 Line Intercom Exchange is installed for internal communication of officers.
|

Internet connections
|
Internet connections to officer’s residencies are provided through DSLAM as well as ADSL on the Railway Phones.

BSNL connections
|
91 lines of BSNL for DoT communication and FAX services
|

CUG connections
|
Approximately 1100 CUG connections are working in RCF for use of officers & supervisors in RCF with monthly bundled data.

Surveillance system
|
More than 257 CCTV cameras are installed for enhanced surveillance in RCF campus. Installation of CCTVs has helped the Security department in keeping vigil and thus reducing the untoward incidents in RCF.

Fixed PA-systems
|
Fixed Public address systems are installed at different locations in RCF for different purposes viz: Conference systems, general announcement systems, entertainment systems, Emergency exit announcement system etc.

PRS system
|
RCF has Passenger Reservation System for Railway ticket reservation on Privilege Passes and Duty passes only for Railway Employees. Centralized Fax system is also operated by the PRS staff for the FAX services in RCF.

VC system
|
Video conference system is installed in the meeting room of GM/RCF for conducting VCs with Railway Board and other Railways as and when required.

Video phones
|
03 Nos. of Video Phones are provided in RCF for direct communication with Railway Board and higher officials of other Railways.

UG cable network
|
Approximately 40 Kms of underground copper cable is laid for providing Railway communication in RCF offices, Workshop and colony areas.

Communication at RCF Tilak bridge office
|
A telephone Exchange and Surveillance system are installed at Tilak bridge office of RCF at New Delhi and at Sarojini Nagar ORH.

Holiday Home at Patnitop
|
02 Nos. of FTTH connections for Wi-Fi facility for officers and staff alongwith surveillance system are installed at Holiday Home of RCF at Patnitop J&K.
