RCF,Kapurthala has set the record of highest annual coach production by manufacturing 1901 coaches in the year 2023-24.
Also, RCF has achieved the highest ever monthly production of producing 207 coaches and 208 shells in March 2024. Over the past fiscal, RCF has gained special recognition in the country by manufacturing several new products, including 3 Phase MEMU coaches running on the electrified track of Kashmir Valley and Rajdhani coaches for the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla section.
This year, RCF has not only manufactured the highest ever 41 rakes of 3 Phase MEMU coaches, but has also registered an increase of 64% as compared to last year's production of 25 rakes of 3 Phase MEMU coaches.
It is also worth noting that in the year 2023-24, 1217 AC coaches including 734 AC three-tier economy coaches were manufactured in RCF. The Non-AC class includes 216 LHB sleeper, 98 Deen Dayalu and 316 3PH MEMU coaches. RCF recorded a growth of 15% in the year 2023-24 as against the production of 1651 coaches in the year 2022-23.
GOLDEN PEACOCK AWARD FOR ENERGY EFFICIENCY - 2024
Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala has been presented with the prestigious ‘Golden Peacock Award for Energy Efficiency’ for the year 2024 under the “Railways” Category by the Awards Jury under the Chairmanship of Hon’ble Justice M.N.Venkatachaliah, former Chief Justice of India on 27.06.2024.Golden Peacock Awards, instituted by the Institute of Directors (IOD), India in 1991, are now regarded as a benchmark of Corporate Excellence worldwide. No other Business Award today receives the kind of Recognition and Adulation among peers that Golden Peacock does. It is worth mentioning that RCF has got this award for 1st time in this category. 14 different companies were presented the award for their respective sectors under the Energy Efficiency category.
RCF MANUFACTURES IT'S 45000th COACH
RCF achieved yet another achievement on 06.09.2024, when it manufactured it’s 45000th coach. The year 2024-25 has been remarkable for RCF, as it achieved its highest ever production of 2102 coaches in financial year 2024-25 ending on 31.03.2025 . Cumulative coach production of RCF was 46,278 coaches ion 31.03.2025.

RCF Kapurthala has recorded its highest annual coach production in the financial year 2024-25. RCF manufactured 2102 coaches, marking an 11% increase compared to the 1901 coaches produced in the previous year. This achievement contributes significantly to India's railway infrastructure and modernization efforts. RCF has registered a 22% rise in the production of LHB (Linke Hofmann Busch) coaches in comparison to the 2023-24 financial year. The factory manufactured a record 1926 LHB coaches, pushing the total coach production beyond 46,000 units.
