Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala achieves a record production of 2102 coaches in 2024-25

01.04.2025: Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala has achieved its highest annual coach production by manufacturing 2102 coaches in the year 2024-25 registering an increase of 11% as compared to 1901 coaches manufactured last year.

In addition, RCF has registered a 22% increase in the production of LHB coaches as compared to 2023-24, manufacturing a record 1926 LHB coaches in 2024-25, resulting in RCF’s total coach production exceeding 46,000 coaches.

In the FY 2024-25, RCF has gained special recognition in the country by manufacturing several new products, including the manufacturing of Vande Metro rake, which is a revolutionary step towards smooth, convenient and fast movement in intercity traffic. Vande Metro trains, designed for modern metro systems in big cities, represent a shift towards new types of rolling stock. Five rakes have been manufactured for Kashmir Valley between Udhampur and Baramulla to run in hot to cold weather, with additional heating arrangements. Production of Vande Bharat coaches have now started at RCF. In the series of new builds , the first rake of Amrit Bharat coaches has been manufactured which is a push-pull train with upgraded non-AC 3 tier sleeper, pantry and unreserved coaches. In addition, designs of High Speed ​​Self Propelled Accident Relief Train (SPART), High Speed ​​Self Propelled Inspection Car (SPIC) have been prepared and these coaches are ready for production in the financial year 2025-26. LHB coaches will be manufactured for Bangladesh Railways in this financial year. Special focus o­n manufacturing new type of coaches reflects RCF’s commitment towards technological advancement.

On this occasion, General Manager of RCF, Shri S.S. Mishra congratulated all the employees and said that in order to phase out the old ICF type coaches, RCF has been given a target of manufacturing 3000 coaches by the Railway Board in the year 2025-26. He expressed confidence that with its technical skills and strong determination, RCF will definitely be able to achieve its target within the stipulated time.

On this occasion, sweets were distributed to all the employees to share these important achievements. Sweets were distributed at the workplaces of the employees by the General Manager Shri S.S. Mishra in the presence of the department heads. All the employees were looking very happy at the production records and there was a festive atmosphere at all the workplaces.
