Vigilance Awareness Week commences in Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala

30.10.2023, Kapurthala: Observance of Vigilance Awareness Week 2023 commenced today at Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala with a resolve to spread awareness against corruption. As per the instructions from Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) o­n the observance of Vigilance Awareness Week 2023, all the officers and employees of RCF took the “Integrity Pledge” with the theme "Say no to corruption; commit to the Nation ".

In a function held at Conference Hall of RCF, the observance of week begin with taking integrity pledge by all officers. A Vigilance Bulletin, consistent with the theme of the Vigilance Awareness Week, was released o­n the occasion by Sh. Arun Kumar Jain, General manager, RCF and Sh R K Verma, Chief Vigilance Officer of RCF. Sh Vinod Bazad, Dy CVO of RCF gave a presentation o­n PIDPI complaint (Public Interest Disclosure and Protection of Informers) & and Preventive Vigilance Measures.

On the occasion, Sh Arun Kumar Jain said that Corruption is an issue that impacts various segments of society. It erodes political development, democracy, economic progress, the environment, public health, and much more. Thus, it is essential to sensitize and motivate the people to work together in eradicating corruption. Sh R K Verma, CVO/RCF said that observance of Vigilance Awareness Week is o­ne of the tools used by the Commission to bring together all stakeholders to collectively participate in the prevention of, and the fight against corruption and to raise public awareness regarding gravity and threat posed by corruption. He stressed upon the need to identify areas prone to corruptions, implement preventive measures by enhancing transparency and accountability in day to day working.

The Vigilance Department of RCF will conduct series of programmes viz. Workshops/sensitization programs, competitions such as debates, quiz, Rally, Nukkad Nataks during this Vigilance Awareness Week to spread the awareness among employees of RCF. To mark the occasion of “Vigilance Awareness Week”, banners and posters are displayed in the campus to sensitize people o­n corruption.

Vigilance Awareness Week is celebrated o­n the occasion of birthday of the esteemed Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, known for his unwavering patriotism and integrity.
