21.09.2023: Rail Coach Factory Kapurthala has once again achieved the distinction of winning the All India Railway Golf Championship. on the last day of the 67th All India Railway Golf Championship heldat RCF Golf Course, theRail Coach Factory team stood first with a score of 434 . Even after the first round , RCF team was in first place with a score of 212 . This is the thirteenth time that RCF has received the credit for winning this competition.
North Western Railway Jaipur team secured the first runners up position with a score of 464while the team of Chittaranjan Locomotive Works, Chittaranjan also scored 464 strokes and got the second runner up position as the Jaipur team got lesser score on the final day.
On this occasion, the awards were distributed by ShriAshesh Agrawal,General Manager/ RCF. The RCF team led by R K VermaYuvraj Singh, Jagmohan Singh and Randhir Singhreceived the coveted T S Russell Cup from the General Manager. Besides,Yuvraj Singh(RCF) got the credit for winning the longest drive and closest to the pin competition. He was also adjudgedthe Best Golfer withgross score of 135. Giriraj Singh of North Western Railway, Jaipur was given the first runner up award for his gross score of 145 whileAmit Kumar of North Central Railway was given the second runner up award for his gross score of 146.
President of RCF Women's Welfare Organization, Smt. Surabhi Agrawal, Principal Chief Mechanical Engineer, Mr. Arun Kumar Jain, President of RCF Sports Association, Mr. GS Hira, Honorary General Secretary, Mr. Rishi Lal, all senior officers and members of Railway Sports Promotion Board and RCF Sports Association were present on the occasion. Former General Manager of RCF Shri S K Suri also graced the prize distribution ceremony.
At the end of the function, Shri. Ashesh Agrawal appreciated RCF Sports associationfor successfully organizing the golf competition and praised the sportsmanship shown by the players. He said that the RCF Golf Course is counted among the best golf courses in the country, which is situated amidst a very natural site in an area of 115 acres. RCF Sports Association President Shri G S Hira thanked all the departments who made tireless efforts to make this competition successful. He said that due to the excellent hosting management, this was the 12th time for RCF to host this championship which was extremely successful with the cooperation of everyone.
