30.08.2023: on the occasion of the birthday of Hockey Wizard Major Dhyan Chand Olympian, National Sports Day was organized with great enthusiasm at Rail Coach Factory Kapurthala. on this occasion, all the officials of Rail Coach Factory Sports Association, International and National players, Coaches and children gathered at the Astroturf Hockey Stadium where a six-a-side hockey match was played between RCF junior hockey players on the newly constructed six-a-side Astroturf ground.
Shri G S Hira President RCF Sports Association while addressing , encouraged the children to play and practice with more discipline and dedication. He reminded the players of the achievements of hockey wizard Major Dhyanchand, whose birthday on August 29 is celebrated as National Sports Day. on the occasion of National Sports Day, 40 junior hockey players showcased their sporting skills in hockey. Shri R K Verma, Chief Vigilance Officer, Shri. Rishi Lal, General Secretary RCF Sports Association, Sh. P P Singh Joint Secretary RCF Sports Association. Shri S.S. Rawat Senior Sports Officer, RCF men and women hockey players were also present on the occasion.
