16.08.2023 : Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala on 15.08.2023.. on this occasion Shri Ashesh Agrawal, General Manager, RCF unfurled the National Flag and inspected the contingents of Railway Protection Force, St. John Ambulance Brigade, Schools and Bharat Scouts and Guides in the parade.
General Manager Mr. Ashesh Agrawal, while congratulating all the people present on the occasion of the anniversary of the country's independence said that we all are very fortunate that we are the citizens of a great country like India. He said that this national festival is a very special occasion on which we remember those bravehearts and patriots, as a result of which we are citizens of independent India today. Shri Agrawal said that RCF has organized various programs to celebrate the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav of Independence, in which RCF employees and their family members have participated with great enthusiasm. He also praised for making these events ,a success.
Highlighting the achievements of RCF, Shri Agrawal said that RCF has produced 1651 coaches during FY 2022-23 which include 1438 LHB and 213 3 Phase MEMU coaches . Among these, the production of LHB AC was highest ever in which 1114 LHB AC coaches were made in 2022-23 as compared to 841 LHB AC coaches in the year 2021-22, which is an increase of 32.5%. RCF has made a significant achievement in this year by manufacturing of narrow gauge coaches for Kalka-Shimla Railway. Apart from this, high speed parcel van with end opening has also been manufactured and the manufacturing process of cargo liner, general seating AC coach etc. is underway. Shri Agrawal said that RCF has an important target of production of Vande Bharat train sets in this financial year. Apart from this, he specifically mentioned the achievements of all the departments.
An impressive cultural program was also presented at the end of the function. on the occasion of Independence Day, RCF Administrative Office, Lake Complex, various roundabouts, Colony Gates were decorated with colorful lights which presented an enchanting sight at night.
