17.07.2023: A new astroturfground for holding six-a-side hockey matches was inaugurated today in Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthalaby Sh. Ashesh Agarwal, General Manager of RCF.The ground is equipped with many modern facilities like automatic pop up water sprinkler system and is set up adjacent to main astroturf ground at Hockey Stadium.This ground will prove helpful in honing the skills of players besides being helpful tojunior boys and girls practicing game in hockey stadium. The ground will also serve as a practice ground for the teams during the hockey competitions held at RCF. This ground has been builtwith the infrastructure funds received from the Railway Sports Promotion Board.
It may be noted that the Indian Railway Hockey Academy is running successfully in the Astro Turf Hockey Stadiumand RCF has played host to many All India Railway Hockey championships on this ground. The set up of this astroturf ground will pave the way forRCF organizing tournaments based on six a side format in near future .
A six a side exhibition match between RCF officers was organized on the occasion of inauguration .
