RCF hockey player Annu gives sterling performance in India's truimph in Women's Junior Asia Cup
27.06.2023:RCF's Hockey playerAnnu who played a major role in India'struimph inWomen's Junior Asia Cup held recently in Japan returned to RCF where she was given a rousing welcome.India won the Women's Junior Asia Cup 2023 title for the first time with a 2-1 win over Republic of Korea in the final of the Junior Asia Cup. With this win, India has secured a place in the Women's Junior World Cup 2023 to be held in Santiago, Chile later this year.
In the final , Annu scored the first goal for India through a penalty stroke in the 21st minute of the game, while Neelam scored the second goal in the 40th minute of the game. S. Park scored the lone goal for Korea in the 40th minute.
Annu played brilliantly in the Junior Asia Cup, scoring nine goals, which is highest goal tally of the Cup.Twenty-year-old Annu is a dashing forward and represents the RCF and the Indian Railways team apart from the junior Indian team.
Annu was accorded a grand welcome on arrival at RCF. Mr. Ashesh Agarwa ,General Manager of RCFcongratulated Annu and spoke in detail about her sports life and achievements . Annu told about the preparation for the event and her performance which was highly appreciated by GM. He said thatshe has achieved a great feat at such a young age and wished that she will work even harder to replicate this success continuously.President of RCF Sports AssociationShri G S Hira, Honorary General Secretary Shri Rishi Lal were also present on the occasion.
