World Environment Day organised in RCF Kapurthala

Kapurthala 5th June 2023 : World Environment Day was celebrated today with great enthusiasm in Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala. o­n this occasion, Civil and Quality Department of RCF organized several events dedicated to environmental protection.

 

A quiz competition based o­n environment was held o­n 2nd June in which RCF employees participated enthusiastically which was followed by a three-day tree plantation drive from 3rd June to 5th June wherein 3795 trees were planted which included tree saplings of fruit, shade , flowering and herbal plants like Peepal, Jamun, Neem, Banyan, Mango, Baheda, Shisham, Ashoka. The drive was lead by Shri Ashesh Agarwal, General Manager RCF , Officers , employees, children, Railway Protection Force personnel, Scouts and Guides. The plantation was done at various places of RCF viz. Workshop, West Colony, Miyawaki Jungle near Gas Godown, Parks in Township , Hospital, Schools etc. o­n the occasion, President of RCF Women's Welfare Organization, Smt. Suarbhi Agrawal and other members were also present and planted saplings.

Shri Ashesh Agarwal, General Manager also flagged off an environmental rally to create awareness o­n protection of environmental. In this rally, RCF employees, officers, colony residents, Railway Protection Force, Scouts and Guides , children actively participated displaying banners and placards o­n environmental conservation.

A street play was also played in Shopping Centre of RCF sensitising o­n environmental issues .On this occasion , Shri Ashesh Agarwal said that we all have to make collective efforts o­n large scale to save the environment. RCF is fully aware of its responsibility towards the world environment and is fully committed to its conservation, he said.
