RCF Kapurthala rolls out First ever 3 Phase MEMU rake

27.11.2021:Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala today rolled out 1st ever 3 Phase MEMU rake to Asansol MEMU Shed, E Rly. The rake comprising of 12 coaches were rolled out in presence of Sh. Ashesh Agrawal, General Manager , RCF. These coaches will be put in service after performance trial. The electrics in the coaches has been provided by M/s. BHEL.

The coaches have stainless steel body with better acceleration than conventional MEMU coaches. Ethernet based Train Control & Management system (TCMS) has been provided which offer precise train control besides RDM (Rescue Drive Mode) feature which limits the train speed to 60 km/h in case of any failure in Train Network. The Driver motor coach has aerodynamic Nose front with air conditioned Driver's cab and ergonomically designed Driver Desk. Low maintenance is the key feature of these coaches as compared to conventional MEMU coaches.

The 3 Phase MEMUs not not o­nly excel in technical brilliance but provides excellent passenger ammenties too. Each coach has aesthetic interiors with FRP panelling, cushioned seats, wider windows, sliding doors, Mobile charging sockets. Energy efficient LED light fittings have been provided in each coach with 50% Emergency Lights.GPS based PAPIS (Public Address & Passenger Information System) comprising of screen displays andloud speakers in each coach facilitates passengers regarding stations o­n way. For secure travel, CCTV surveillance system with networking features has also been incorporated. 02 Lavatories with Bio tank is also provided in each Trailer coach. These MEMU coaches have higher passenger carrying capacity than conventional MEMU coaches. Each Driving Motor Coach can carry 226 passengers while trailer coach can carry 325 passengers, thus increasing the passenger carrying capacity by almost 30%.
