National Apprenticeship Fair organized at Rail Coach Factory Kapurthala

Kapurthala, 04.10.20201 : A o­ne day National Apprenticeship Fair was organized at Rail Coach Factory Kapurthala, today. This was organized in association with Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Regional Directorate of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Punjab at Technical Training Center, RCF . The initiative seeks to assist apprentices in harnessing their talents by recruiting them and further developing their skill by providing training and practical skills.

Interested youth will get the opportunity to join and get selected in the trades like welder, electrician, mechanic etc. 10th, 12th and ITI students are eligible to apply in this apprenticeship fair. Candidates were asked to bring three copies of their resume, three copies of all mark sheets and certificates, photo ID (Aadhaar card/driving license etc.) and three passport size photographs for screening of their candidature.

296 seats in various trades viz. 87 fitters, 46 welders, 35 machinists, 20 painters, 24 carpenters, 44 electricians, 13 electronics mechanics, 18 AC mechanics and 09 motor vehicle mechanics will be given apprenticeship. 1000 youth filled their application, which was screened o­n the spot. The result of the selected youth will be informed to them soon.

On this occasion the nodal officer of the fair Shri G S Negi, CME (Co-ordination), Shri Rameshwar Singh Principal, Technical Training Center, Smt. Seema Rani and Shri Girdhar Singh (both Assistant Personal Officers) were present.

It may be noted that the National Policy o­n Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, 2015, was launched by the Prime Minister o­n July 15, 2015, recognizing apprenticeship as a means of providing gainful employment to skilled workforce with appropriate remuneration. MSDE has also made several efforts to increase the number of apprentices hired by enterprises in the country. It aims to bridge the gap in supply and demand of skilled workforce and meet the aspirations of Indian youth by providing them better job and employment opportunities through training.
