20.04.2018 : Rail Coach Factory,Kapurthala celebrated the 63rdRailway Week Award function-2018 with zeal and fervor here at RCF. Shri Satya Prakash Trivedi, General Manager / RCF was the Chief Guest and gave away momentos, merit certificates and cash awards to 50 Employees/Officer for their outstanding performance during the year 2017-18.He also presented Running Safety Shield to Electrical Production Shop selected for maintaining high standard of safety .
Speaking on the occasion, Shri. Trivedisaid that Railway Week is celebrated every year to encourage and felicitate employees for their outstanding performance during the year. He congratulated the award winners for putting in their best performance and hoped that they would rededicate themselves to produce better results in the future. It was due to the untiring efforts and dedication of the RCF employeesthat today Indian Railways has made remarkable progress in achieving important goals and targets. The coach production of RCF stood at 1251 coaches during 2017-18 which includes 659 LHB Stainless Steel coaches . Shri. Trivedi enumerated the achievements of RCF and said that one rake of Tejas coaches was rolled last year and received immense admiration and now RCF will produce six rakes this year with improved features viz. Automatic Cabin Entrance Door, Venetian Blinds for Windows etc. Sh S P Trivedi said that RCF also manufactured 05 Humsafar and 01 Antyodaya rake during the year besides producing 46 MEMU ( Main Line Electrical Multiple Units ) rakes. RCF is now geared up to manufacture MEMU Coaches with 3 phase electrics . He also said that production of coaches for UDAY ( Uttkrisht Double-Decker Air-Conditioned Yatri ) is underway . These coaches will have pleasing looking interiors and exteriors draped with colourful vinyl. Each coach will have seating capacity of 120 seats besides having LCD screens for Passenger information etc. Coaches with 104 seat capacity will have Dining space with automatic food vending machine .
Shri Trivedi called for dedicated and tireless efforts of RCF employees to work for manufacturing of coaches for increasing the satisfaction quotient of the passengers. Railway Board has asked for giving passengers better services and making railway journeys enjoyable and hence proposed new initiatives in introduction of New Genre train services viz. Tejas, Humsafar, Antyodaya, Uday etc.
On the occasion, Dr. Smt Jyoti Trivedi President RCF Women Welfare Organisation, Members of RCFWWO, All Principal HODs and HODs, Officers, Awardees and their Family members, Office Bearers of Unions and Associations etc were present.
The function concluded with a colourful cultural programme .
